Banteay Meanchey Province

Wellcome to Banteay Meanchey Province. The province has an area of 6,679 km² and has a population of 627,884 (2008). If we take the bus from Phnom Penh to National Route 4 and is located about 359 km through the national Route 5. Banteay Meanchey is a Cambodian province in the northwest of the country, and its capital is named Sisophon. This area was part of the extensive Khmer empire, with its most notable remains the Banteay Chhmar temple (built in 12th and 13th century) in the north of the province. In the 17th century the Siam took control over Cambodia, and made the area of the modern province part of Sisophon Province. In the year 1907 the Siam had to cede control to the French, and the area was then included into Battambang Province. In 1988 the province Banteay Meanchey was split off from Battambang.
​Banteay Meanchey Province ​rural areas have a lot of scenery it amazing to visits and a nice that have a tropical area in the Cambodia. And more people is farmers and have beautiful mountain. ​Banteay Meanchey Province​​ have a lot of animal because the low-lying areas spread. Banteay Chhmar is not on the tourist map, but a trip to this exotic site is one adventure you will harbor in your memory for a long time.
